For most first Maldives yacht charters, we point clients to December through April. It is the easiest season to recommend if you want calmer conditions, clearer travel planning, and the best chance of a smooth, straightforward week between atolls.

That said, the Maldives is not a one-month wonder. It works year-round in different ways, and the real question is what matters most: holiday-week weather confidence, diving priorities, shoulder-season value, or access to the exact yacht you want. What does not change is that the market is not huge, so the stronger yachts and the Christmas-New Year dates go first.

On the Maldives fleet we are seeing now, fully crewed luxury catamarans usually start around USD 15,000 per week, good private motor yachts begin closer to USD 55,000 to 95,000+ per week, and larger superyacht-style charters move into the low six figures and up. Most Maldives luxury charters are sold on an inclusive or near-inclusive basis, but you should still budget for 17% tourism GST, USD 12 green tax per guest per night, crew gratuity, premium alcohol, diving, extra cruising fuel, transfers, and sometimes a small APA-style allowance. Seven nights is the floor in the Maldives. It works for a central-atolls loop from Male and gives you a proper first feel for the destination, but it can still feel quick once you factor in crossings, diving, sandbanks, and any resort stops. In most cases, we prefer 10 nights or more so the charter feels like the Maldives rather than a fast relay between reefs.
