Paradise on Earth

Indonesia is the largest archipelago on earth, thousands of islands spread between the Indian and Pacific Oceans, with regions that feel wildly different from one another.

A charter here has a different character from more established cruising grounds. The fleet is mainly traditional phinisi yachts alongside modern expedition and motor yachts. The routes are wider, the anchorages less crowded, and the best places are reached by sea.

Most trips are built around one region at a time. Komodo brings dry volcanic islands, dragon country, manta channels and pink beaches. Raja Ampat is another world entirely, with limestone lagoons, coral-rich reefs and some of the finest diving on the planet. The Banda Sea and Spice Islands add old trading harbors, volcanoes and a stronger expedition feel.

Paradise on Earth

Why Indonesia

The draw of Indonesia.

Coral reef in Indonesia

Colorful reef diving

Indonesia sits at the heart of the Coral Triangle, with Raja Ampat among the most biodiverse marine regions on earth.

Komodo dragon in Indonesia

Rainforest and wildlife

Komodo dragons, birds of paradise, manta rays, sea turtles, jungle islands and volcanic coastlines give each route real life.

Luxury phinisi yacht in Indonesia

Local phinisi fleet

Traditional wooden phinisi yachts give Indonesia its own charter identity, with local crews and vessels built for these waters.

Banda Islands in Indonesia

Island culture

Fishing villages, spice-route harbors, markets, ceremonies and seafaring traditions add depth beyond the natural beauty.

Raja Ampat
Raja Ampat

Located within the Coral Triangle, Raja Ampat is widely cited by marine scientists as holding the highest reef fish and coral diversity recorded anywhere. We consider Raja Ampat our favorite Indonesian charter area for one reason: density. Life is everywhere—reef fish at the surface, mantas gliding through channels, and jungle-covered limestone islands rising straight from the sea. A yacht charter allows slow, deliberate movement through this maze, choosing anchorages and dive sites based on tides, light, and conditions rather than fixed routes.

Komodo National Park
Komodo National Park

Komodo is one of the most intense cruising areas we work in. The landscape is dry, steep, and almost desert-like, yet the water around it is full of life. Strong currents move through the channels of Komodo National Park, which is why manta rays, sharks, and large schools of fish are so common here.

Banda Sea & Spice Islands
Banda Sea & Spice Islands

The Banda Sea and Spice Islands have a deeper expedition feel. This is Indonesia as an old maritime world, shaped by spice trading, volcanic islands, nutmeg harbors, remote reefs, and long blue passages between places few travelers reach.

Alor & Flores
Alor & Flores

Alor and Flores bring a more cultural and volcanic side of eastern Indonesia. The route can include colored crater lakes, hiking, traditional villages, local textiles, volcanic coastlines, and strong reef diving where conditions allow.

Triton Bay (West Papua)
Triton Bay (West Papua)

Triton Bay is a specialist West Papua route, usually for clients with a specific diving, wildlife, or remote-culture brief. The area is known for soft coral gardens, whale shark possibilities around local fishing platforms, jungle coastlines, ancient rock art, and a far-eastern Indonesia feeling that is difficult to access without a yacht.

Signature Indonesia Yacht Charter Experiences

Learn to Dive in the Coral Triangle

Many Indonesia yachts can arrange PADI training, refresher dives, or guided diving onboard. Raja Ampat, Komodo, and the Banda Sea all reward a yacht that can move with tides, currents, and visibility.

Swim with Whale Sharks and Mantas

Depending on season and route, Indonesia can bring whale sharks, manta channels, reef sharks, turtles, dolphins, and schooling fish. The exact brief depends on region, timing, and local conditions.

WHERE: Saleh Bay, Cenderawasih Bay, Triton Bay, Raja Ampat, and Komodo.

Track Komodo Dragons and Hike Volcanoes

Learn to Cook Where the Spice Routes Began

In the Banda Sea and Spice Islands, food is tied directly to place. Visit nutmeg islands, old spice harbors, and local markets, then see how Indonesian crews use spices onboard.

Snorkel, Freedive, Surf, and Explore by Tender

Not every great Indonesia moment needs tanks or a long landing. Snorkel reef walls, freedive coral gardens, kayak limestone lagoons, tender into hidden bays, or add surf on the right route.
