Do we need travel and cancellation insurance for an expedition charter?

More than on any other charter, yes. For expedition travel we consider comprehensive insurance essential rather than optional, and good operators often require proof of it. You want cancellation and curtailment cover to protect a large fee committed far in advance, and, critically, medical and evacuation cover that extends to genuinely remote regions.

Standard travel policies often exclude polar regions or remote evacuation, so the detail matters: check the geographic limits and the evacuation cover specifically. We can point you toward specialist providers who understand expedition travel.
