Is the there a lot of rain in the Summer months June – July for a BVI yacht charter?
Well, yes and no. Let’s start with a boring BVI precipitation table…Now, the weather in the Caribbean is not the same as the weather in the US. When it’s raining, it’s raining it’s raining for short periods of time. Intensely. It’s not unusual to have a sunny morning, then the clouds come in an there is some INTENSE rain at lunchtime, only to have more sun in the afternoon. Of course, there are exceptions.
BVI Seasons – sunshine & rain
As a general rule, you want to be careful the hurricane season, which is June-November. It is a brilliant idea to arrange your charter insurance, especially September and October (few charters are booked, many boats leave). Nevertheless, those boats that stay do tend to offer interesting low season rates.
